hey mate

here is the answer...

Answer:

we know that,

sum of the roots= -(coefficient of x)/coefficient of x²

=-b/a

=-4/1=-4

[Note:I am using @ instead of alpha for notation]

sum of the roots=@+@/2

-4=@(1+1/2)

3@/2=-4

@=-4*2/3

@=-8/3

so, alpha (@)=-8/3

hence,the roots are -8/3 and -8/6.

or -8/3 and -4/3.

we know that,

product of the roots=constant term/coefficient of x²

=2a/1

=2a

product of the roots=-8/3*-4/3

2a=32/9

=>a=16/9 (Answer)

rehabsadaf: hey can u explain me thissum of the roots=@+@/2

-4=@(1+1/2)
rehabsadaf: this*
rehabsadaf: sum*
rehabsadaf: and how did u got this 4=@(1+1/2)
