Universe is so big so big so big that if i wrote 0s after 1 my whole life then also i can not come close to the size of universe. And sun a puny star which is effectively dust just when compared to the milky way. There are many more brighter objects in universe like hypernovae which outshine whole galaxies. And as a cool fact Universe has a colour which is exotically named COSMIC LATTE. Google it for more information.

Light doesn't requires medium to travel.
We can't see light.
When light falls on an object then it reflects back and falls in our eye. Then our eye retina can make a image of that object.
In universes there is no medium for light to fall upon. There is no matter in space. It's empty.
So how can we see anything if there is nothing.
Although when light falls on planetary bodies in universe like Planets or Stars our eye can capture the light rays reflecting back from these bodies and we can see them.
