Let the number of questions attempted be x

 \frac{x}{100}  \times 100 = 85\% \\ x =  \frac{85 \times 100}{100}  \\ x = 85

So, the number of questions attempted by the students is 85.

And the number of questions left

=> 100 - 85 = 15.
