so,
→ x + y + z = 20 -------- Eqn.(1)
and,
→ 3x + 2y + z/2 = 20
→ 6x + 4y + z = 40 ------- Eqn.(2)
subtracting Eqn.(1) from Eqn.(2)
→ (6x + 4y + z) - (x + y + z) = 40 - 20
→ 5x + 3y = 20 ------- Eqn.(3)
putting x = 1,
→ 3y = 20 - 5
→ 3y = 15
→ y = 5 .
then,
→ Number of women = 5 (Ans.)
→ Number of children = 20 - (5 + 1) = 14 (Ans.)
