Given :- If there are 30, 22, 25, 28, 31, 20 and 26 children in the first to seventh class of the school respectively, what is the average number of children in the class?*

1) 28

2) 23

3) 29

4) 26

Answer :-

we know that,

  • Average = sum of observations. / Total number of observations.

→ Sum of all children from 1st to 7th class = 30 + 22 + 25 + 28 + 31 + 20 = 182 .

and,

→ Total class from 1 to 7 = 7 .

then,

→ Average = Sum of all children from 1st to 7th class / Total class from 1 to 7 = 182/7 = 26 (4) (Ans.)

Given:

If there are 30, 22, 25, 28, 31, 20, and 26 children in the first to seventh class of the school respectively

To find:

what is the average number of children in the class?

Solution:

30, 22, 25, 28, 31, 20 and 26

Sum :

30, 22, 25, 28, 31, 20 and 26

=> 30 + 22 + 25 + 28 + 31 + 20 + 26

=> 182

Total observations:

30, 22, 25, 28, 31, 20 and 26

There are total 7 observations.

Average :

Average = Sum of observations/Total observations

=> Average = 182/7

=> Average = 26

Hence, the required answer is Option 4️⃣=> 26
