Given :  there are 5 apples to every 3 oranges in a bin,

To Find :  which graph represents the proportional relationship of the fruit in the bin

Solution:

5 apples to every 3 oranges in a bin

Apples = 5

Oranges = 3

=> Oranges / Apples = 3/5

=> Oranges = 0.6 Apples

apples on the x-axis

oranges on the y-axis.

=> y = 0.6x

Points (3, 5) and (6, 10)

( 3 , 5)    x = 3 => y  = 1.8   ≠ 5

(6, 10)   x  = 6  => y = 3.6 ≠ 10

Hence Points (3, 5) (6, 10) does not represent proportional relationship of the fruit in the bin

Points (4, 3) and (8, 6)

( 4 , 3)    x = 4 => y  = 2.4   ≠ 3

(8,  6)   x  = 8  => y = 4.8 ≠ 6

Points (4, 3) and (8, 6)

( 8 , 3)    x = 8 => y  = 4.8   ≠ 3

(16,  6)   x  = 16  => y = 9.6 ≠ 6

Points (5, 3) and (10, 6)

( 5 , 3)    x = 5 => y  = 3  = 3

(10,  6)   x  = 10  => y = 6 = 6

Hence On a coordinate plane, a graph titled Fruit bin has apples on the x-axis and oranges on the y-axis. Points (5, 3) and (10, 6) are plotted.

Represents the  the proportional relationship of the fruit in the bin
