Given:

There are 5 pieces of cake.

The cake is distributed among few people such that each one gets \frac{5}{6}th part of a piece of cake.

To find:

How many people will get the cake?

Solution:

The solution to this problem is very simple and lies in the concept of Unitary method.

We can apply unitary method to get the solution of this problem.

\frac{5}{6}th part of piece of the cake is distributed to = 1 person

1 part of the piece of cake is distributed to = \dfrac{1}{\frac{5}{6}} or \dfrac{6}{5}

5 parts of pieces of cake will be distributed to = \dfrac{6}{5} \times 5 = 6\ people

So, 5 pieces of cake will be distributed to 6 people.

 Given \: number \: of \: cake \: pieces = 5

 Quantity \: of \: each \: portion \: each \\person \: get = \frac{5}{6}

 Let \: number \: of \: persons \: get \:the \\cake = n

 \therefore n \times \frac{5}{6} = 5

 \implies n = 5 \times \frac{6}{5}

 \implies n = 6

Therefore.,

 \red { number \: of \: persons \: get \:the \:cake}\\\green { = 6}
