Algae is a type of plant that prepares their own food. This takes the carbon dioxide and releases oxygen into the water, this oxygen is utilised by fishes for respiration. If there are no algae in the water then oxygen amount becomes less and fishes can't live.so we can say that If there are no algae in the water then there will be no fishes.

Algae give out oxygen which is used by the fishes.Fishes also eat algae. So algae is important to the fishes in water.
