Climatic influence: himalayas obstruct monsoon winds from bay of bengal and arabian sea and causes rainfall.
Himalayas also prevent cold wind of central from entering India.
Source of river: himalaya is the source of perennial rivers which are lifeline of India and civilisation have bloomed on its banks.
Other major significance of Himalayas are forest wealth, biodiversity, tourism, defence etc.
If there were no himalayas, there would be no perennial rivers, monsoon rainfall and cold winds from central Asia would have swept India. Hence agriculture would be affected severely and so would be people's lives.
Hope it helps you
