If there is a sea in the middle of the sea there is a Titanic . The Titanic has a rope which is floating in the water . Everyday the water level will increase 1 Feet . Then what will be happening to the rope ?

I think rope will also have increased height or as we know that the water level of sea never change thus there will no change in the rope position.

No, we see here that the rope that is hanging from the Titanic is floating on water and since it is inside water it absorbs some of it.

  • The absorbed water will add to the weight of rope since everyday the water level Rises by 1 feet that means 1 feet of rope everyday get more immersed into the sea there by increasing the weight of the Rope gradually.
  • And since the weight of the Rope at the bottom increases gradually and with increase in weight the gravitational pull on the Rope also increases due to which there is a tension that is built on the Rope.
  • The tension in the belt is increasing everyday which may also result in breaking of the rope if it is unable to take in the extra tension.
