temperature of earth’s surface would be - (b) less than the present

Carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases. Greenhouse effect is the product of greenhouse gases' action.

The greenhouse effect refers to absorption of sun's warmth on the planet, without letting the heat escape.

This results in rise of earth's temperature, which in turn results in global warming.

Increased carbon dioxide is product of human activity, which has resulted in increased temperature.

Absence of carbon dioxide will lower the temperature and is the need of hour.
