if there were no planes and ships ,, which vehicle would you use to quickly reach a place across a sea and why?

Ts simple, in the current world the next world the next best choice might be a helicopter or if a person requires more comfort and experience it would be a submarine. These vehicles may be slower than a plane or a ship respectively but these are the next best but not the only choice. It is purely the choice of the traveler to choose what to ride in.
