They will give it to her - Is an independent clause. It has a subject - 'they'. It has a predicate - 'give it to her'.
A clause is a group of words which contains a subject and a predicate (or a verb). There are two types of clauses:
1. Independent clause - It is a complete sentence. It can stand alone and it expresses a complete thought.
2. Dependent clause - It contains a subject and a predicate. But it does not express a complete thought.
Dependent clauses can be of three types on the basis of the way they are used in a sentence. They are:
i. An adjective clause describes or gives more information about a noun. It tells us how many, what kind, or which one.
ii. An adverb clause describes or gives more information about the verb. It tells us to what extent, where, when, how, under what condition something is happening.
iii. A noun clause takes the place of a noun in a sentence.
