Answer:

60 ohm

Given :-

Three resistances of 25 ohm, 20 ohm and 15 ohm

connected in series combination.

To find :-

Equivalent resistance

Solution :-

In series combination;

Equivalent resistance, R = R₁ + R₂ + R₃

Given, R₁ = 25 ohm

R₂ = 20 ohm

R₃ = 15 ohm

Putting values,

R = (25 + 20 + 15) ohm

= 60 ohm

Hence, equivalent resistance of the given resistances is 60 ohm.

Know More :-

In series combination of resistors;

  • Same current passes through each resistance.

  • Voltage across each resistance is directly proportional to the value of resistance.

V₁ = iR₁ , V₂ = iR₂ , V₃ = iR₃

  • Sum of the voltages across all resistances is equal to the voltage applied across the circuit.

i.e., V = V₁ + V₂ + V₃
