Here, R1=2ohm , R2=3ohm , R3=5ohm
1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
1/Rp = 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/5
1/Rp = 3*5+2*5+2*3/2*3*5
1/Rp = 15+10+6/30
= 31/30
Rp= 30/31 = approx. 1 ohm
Thus the total resistance is less than 2 ohm and does not lie between 2ohm and 5ohm.
Also this is one of the characteristics of resistance combination in parallel.
Hope it helps
1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
1/Rp = 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/5
1/Rp = 3*5+2*5+2*3/2*3*5
1/Rp = 15+10+6/30
= 31/30
Rp= 30/31 = approx. 1 ohm
Thus the total resistance is less than 2 ohm and does not lie between 2ohm and 5ohm.
