If Tipu Sultan, the Marathas, and the Nizam were united against the British the history of India would have been different because then it would have been not possible by the East India Company to expand its control of major part of central & south India and would have been forced to follow the orders of the Mughal emperor.

 It was a classic example of divided we fall.

The Marathas got the chance to be the supreme power but they lost due to the division.

Yes I agree as when tipu sultan, the Marathas and nizam would be united it wouldn't be only known as they were fighting for their own state instead it would be known as they were fighting for India as a whole.

That is why the history of India would have been very different.

But these rulers were only fighting for their own state or their own territory and region.
