Solution:

total teams are 11,

A match has to be played between 2 teams

we need to select two teams out of 11

A playing with B and B playing with A are same thing

Hence order of selection does not matter.

Number of ways of selecting two team out of 11when order of selection does not matter

= ¹¹C₂

= 11 x 10 /2

= 55

total number of matches  in league tournament = 55
