As, triangle ABC and DEF r similar ..... and DE = 2AB and BC = 8 cm .........
then according to sides theorem :-
AB / DE = BC / EF
----> AB / 2AB = BC / EF [as DE = 2AB]
----> 1 / 2 = BC / EF
----> EF = 2BC
----> EF = 2 * 8 = 16 cm .........(ans) ...

When two triangles are similar to each other, then
- Corresponding angles of the triangles are equal
- Corresponding sides of the triangles are in proportion
There are two triangles ΔABC and ΔDEF then they are similar .
according to sides theorem :-
AB / DE = BC / EF
∴AB/2AB=BC /EF [∵DE=2AB]
⇒ =
EF = 2BC
EF = 2 ×8 = 16cm [ BC = 8cm]
Hence EF = 16cm.
Ans :- EF = 16cm.
