If triangle abc is similar to triangle pqr such that bc = 12 cm, area of triangle abc= 72cm^2 and area of triangle pqr= 128cm^2, determine qr.

∵triangles r similar so d ratio of the areas of two similar triangles is equal to the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides

that is

ar(abc)/ar(pqr) = (ab/pq)sq = (bc/qr)sq =(ca/rp)sq

72/128 = (12)sq/(qr)sq

72/128 = 144/(qr)sq

(qr)sq = 144*188/72

(qr)sq = 376

qr = √376

qr = 19.39cm
