let fathers age =y

2x +y =41 and. (1)

x+2y =61(2)

from eq 1 y=41-2x

substituting value of y in eq 2

x+2 (41- 2x)=61

x+82- 4x=61

82 -3x=61

-3x=61-82

=-21

x= -21/-3

=7

daughter =7 years

father =2×7 +y =41

14 + y = 41

y =41 -14

=27
