Let son age = x

mother age = y

We have 2 equations :

2x + y = 70 ....(i)

2y + x = 95.....(ii)

We have to solve this by either elimination or substitution as this is a pair of simultaneous equations. I prefer elimination.

To eliminate x:

(i) ×1 - (ii) ×2

2x + y = 70

-2x + 4y = 190

-3y = -120

y = 60

Substitute y into (i)

2x = 70 - 60

x = 5

So therefore the mother's age is 60 years and the son's age is 5 years

Hope it helps and plzzzzz mark Brainliest
