correct question

If two angles are supplementry and one angle is 5 times more then the other. Find angles

ANSWER

GIVEN :-

  • two angles are supplmentry or we can say their sum is 180
  • one is 5 more then other
  • let angles are x and y
  • apply given condition
  • x+y = 180 ........eq1 and x = 5y ........ eq2

put x = 5y in 1

we get

6y = 180 or y = 30

put y= 30 in 1

we get x = 150

hope it helps

Answer:

Let the angles be x and y

x + y = 180          ---> (1)

y = 4x + 5  ==> 4x - y = -5   ---> (2)

Adding equation 1 and 2 ,

x +y = 180

4x - y = -5

========

5x  = 175

x = 35

y = 180 - 35 = 145

=======================

The angles are 35° and 145°
