If two angles are supplementary and one angle is 5° more than four times the other , find the angles​

Answer:

supplementary = sum of angles is 180

let angle 1 = x

angle 2 =y

x-5 = 4y

x+y = 180

We've got 2 equations. Subtract them.

x - 4y = 5

-x + y = 180

- 5y = - 175

y = 175/5

= 35

x - 5 = 4y

x-5 = 140

x = 145
