Given

If two angles are supplementary and one angle is double the other then the larger angle is ..?

⟹ Suppose the number is x

→According to the question :-

  • X + 2X = 180

So Solving the Equation

  • →X +2X= 180
  • →3x = 180
  • →X = 60

So the 1st angle is 60 degree

And the largest angle is 120 degree

✌️Prove

  • As we know that the sum of the two supplementary angles are 180

Here 120deg+ 60deg = 180deg, Hence proved

SOLUTION

GIVEN

Two angles are supplementary and one angle is double the other

TO DETERMINE

The larger angle

EVALUATION

Here it is given that two one angle is double the other

Let the angles are x and 2x

Since two angles are supplementary

Then sum of the angles = 180°

⇒ x + 2x = 180°

⇒ 3x = 180°

⇒ x = 60°

First angle = 60°

Second angle = 2 × 60° = 120°

FINAL ANSWER

The larger angle = 120°
