if their masses and heights are same then obviously thier gravitational potential energy will be the same

Answer: they have the same gravitational P.E. as the formula for P.E. is mgh, the potential energy depends only on the three factors namely mass, 'g', height. Now, herein, the mass of the objects is same, ht. is same as well as the value of 'g' is same for all bodies. Hence, we may conclude that the gravitational P.E. for both the bodies is the same.

Hope it helps :)
