If two chairs cost Rs.180 more than cost of 3 tables and if 10 chairs costs Rs.2100 less than the cost of 40 tables .Find total cost of chair and table.

and the cost of table be y
according to question
2x=3y+180
=>x=3y+180/2. (1)
10x+2100=40y
from (1)
10(3y+180/2)+2100=40y
15y+900+2100=40y
40y-15y=3000
25y=3000
y=120. (2)
from (1) and (2)
x=3(120)+180/2
x=360+180/2
x=540/2
x=270
So,cost of chair=270
cost of table=120
