direction, what is the resultant force being applied by them on the box
Also name the force which opposes the change in the state of motion of

solution:-

let the box be moving in the positive x direction.

forces applied are:-

10 Newton by child (A)

10 Newton by child (B)

resultant force:-

since both the forces are along the same direction (positive x axis), we can simply sum up the magnitudes of both the forces.

\tt\implies 10i + 10i

\tt\implies 20i

I cap indicates that the direction of the resultant force is in positive x direction.

opposive forces:-

the two probable opposive forces are :-

• frictional force

• air resistance

since the force applied in direction normal will be mg,

frictional force = umg

where, u is frictional constant

m is mass of object

g is gravitational force

air resistance:-

air resistance can be neglected but it is a opposive force in the motion of the object

hope this helps!!
