Given :- If two cubes of length of each side 2√6 cm are placed side by side , then what is the length of the diagonal of the cuboid so produced is ?

Solution :-

we know that, when two cubes of same length are placed side by side, then,

  • Length of cuboid so formed = 2 * Length of cube = 4√6 cm.
  • Breadth of cuboid = Length of cube = 2√6 cm.
  • Height of cuboid = Length of cube = 2√6 cm.

now, we also know that,

  • Diagonal of the cuboid =√(length² + breadth² +height²)

Putting all values we get,

→ Diagonal = √[(4√6)² + (2√6)² + (2√6)²]

→ Diagonal = √[96 + 24 + 24]

→ Diagonal = √(144)

→ Diagonal = 12 cm.

Hence, the length of the diagonal of the cuboid so produced is 12 cm.
