Given:-

Two dices are thrown simultaneously.

To Find:-

Probability of getting a square number on top.

Solution:-

 \scriptsize{ \red{\boxed{probability: \: the \: measure \: of \: the \: chance \: of \: an \: event \: happening}}}

 \scriptsize{{\boxed{formula =  \frac{number \: of \: favourable \: outcomes}{number \: of \: total \: outcomes}}}}

We know:-

There are six faces on a dice.

So,

combination of two dices

= 6×6

= 36

Square digits between 1 and 36:-

1,4,9,16,25,36

= 6 digits

Probability:-

 \frac{favourable\; outcomes}{total\; outcomes}

=  \cancel\frac{6}{36}

=  \frac{1}{6}

Hence,

The probability of getting a square number if two dices are thrown simultaneously is  \frac{1}{6}
