If the two forces act on an object in the opposite direction then the net force is eqial to the sum of their forces .

When two forces acting in opposite directions are applied on an object the net force is equal to the difference of the 2 forces.

Ex-

Let force A be applied on a box from west and force B be applied on a box from east, if A=100N and B=78N

Then movement would be toward the west as 100N>78N

and the net force would be 100N-78N=32N

note :if the forces are in same direction then it would be the sum of the forces.
