Pressure is the force act on per unit cross section area .

Pressure = force/area

Let the forces be = 5x & 7x

Let the area be = 4x & 5x 

∴ P₁ = force / area

       = 5x / 4x

       = 5/4 Pa

P₂ = force /area

    = 7x / 5x

     = 7/5 Pa

∴ The ratio of P₁ and P₂ = 5/4/7/5

                                          =  25/28

∴ The answer is 25 : 28

Then we know

So p1/p2=5y/4x ÷7y/5x
