Pressure = F/A
P = F/A
Now for the first case,
P1 = F1/A1
P1 = 10/20 = 1/2
Now for the second case,
P2= F2/A2
P2 = 18/6 = 3/1
So the ratio of P1 and P2 is
P1/P2
= (1/2) ÷ (3/1)
= (1/2) × (1/3)
= 1/6
= 1:6 (answer)
