If two line pa + b = 2 and 3a + b = 4 are parallel to each other, then what is the value of p ?

let a=x,
b=y,
therefore the equation becomes,
PX+y=2,
3x+y=4,
since the lines are parallel,
therefore,
slopes of both the lines will be same, therefore,
p=3.
because, slopes are Coffecient of x.
