Answer:

Let the line segments AB and PQ perpendicular to the line XY

Now if AB Perpendicular to the XY so angle ABY = 90

NOW if line PQ perpendicular to the line XY so angle PQX = 90

angle ABY + angle PQX

90 + 90

= 180

IT MEANS THAT ABY and PQX are cointerior angles.

and therefore AB is parallel to PQ
