Given :  if two lines intersect at a point, then the vertically opposite angles are always _________

To Find : Fill in the Blank

Solution

Vertical angles are angles opposite each other when two lines intersect.

Vertical angles are congruent.

Vertical angles are  Equal in measures

Ref attached figure

∠1 and ∠3  are vertically opposite angles

∠2 and ∠4  are vertically opposite angles

∠1 + ∠2 = 180°   Linear Pair

∠3 + ∠2 = 180°   Linear Pair

Equate both

∠1 + ∠2  = ∠3 + ∠2

=> ∠1    = ∠3

Similarly  ∠2 = ∠4

if two lines intersect at a point, then the vertically opposite angles are always CONGRUENT ( Equal in Measures)
