Given : two numbers (positive) A and B can be expressed as A  = xy³ B = x⁴y²z  . x, y being prime numbers

To find : HCF of A & B

Solution :

A  = xy³

B = x⁴y²z

HCF = Highest common factor

A = xy³

= (xy²)y

B = x⁴y²z

= ( xy²)x³z

xy² is common factor in A & B

HCF = xy²

HCF of A and B is xy²
