The velocity of center of mass of a system remains constant untill an external force acts on the system so in this case if initially the bodies are at rest and they move towards each other due to their mutual force of attraction then it means tbat no external force is acting on the system hence the velocity of center of mass that is 0m/s initially will remain the same that is the final velocity will too be 0m/s
