Given:

If two particles moving in the same direction with same speed.

To Find:

what is the relative velocity of each other?

Solution:

since, we know that , relative velocity is the time rate of change of relative position of one object with respect to another object.

here, it is given that, two particles moving in the same direction with same speed. This implies; v_{1}=v_{2}=v

therefore,

according to question, we have

v_{rel.}=v_{2}-v_{1}\\

but, v_{1}=v_{2}=v

therefore,

v_{rel.}=v_{2}-v_{1}\\ \ \ =v-v=0

Hence, relative velocity of two particles moving in the same direction with same speed is zero (0).
