There is a theorem that ration of area of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of the square of their corresponding altitudes.
Here it is given that two triangles ABX and PQR are similar.

So
Area ∆ABC/Area∆PQR=4^2/9^2

Area ∆ABC/Area∆PQR= 16/81
Hence the ratio of the areas of triangle ABC and triangle PQR is equal to 16:81.
