Due to osmosis the solutions will get mixed up with each other

brainnowork: do you have a better answer ?
brainnowork: The water will move inside the cell and get swollen up both in the first and the second case that is due to osmosis it will get mixed

Answer:

After 1 hour, the volume of 10% glucose solution will increase and volume of 5% glucose solution will decrease.

Explanation:

Solution of 5% glucose is hypotonic compared to solution of 10% glucose. Since the membrane separation them is semi-permeable, water from the hypotonic solution (or 5% glucose solution) will move to the hypertonic solution(or 10% glucose solution). Hence, after 1 hour, the volume of 10% glucose solution will increase and volume of 5% glucose solution will decrease.
