Answer : The sum of two supplementary angles = 180°

Let the ratios be x and 2x respectively.

⇒ x + 2x = 180°

⇒ 3x = 180°

⇒ x = 180° ÷ 3

       = 60°

∴ The measure of the smaller angle is 60° (x) and the measure of the bigger angle is 120° (2x).

Answer:-

The Measure of larger angle is 120°.

Explanation:-

Given:-

  • Two supplementary angles in ratio 2:3.

To Find:-

  • The bigger angle.

ConceptUsed:-

  • Sum of two supplementary angles is always equal to 180°.

Now,

Since it is given that the angles are in ratio 1:2 so let the angles be 1x and 2x respectively.

Clearly we can see that the value of 2x would be greater than that of 1x.

So we have to find out the value of 2x.

Therefore,

↦ 1x + 2x = 180°

(As the angles are supplementary.)

↦ 3x = 180°.

↦ x = 180°/3.

x = 60°.

So the bigger angle is 2x = 2×60° = 120°.

Therefore the measure of bigger angle is 120°.
