If two vectors are perpendicular to each other then the scalar product or dot product is zero. (Option a)

  • The dot product of two vectors (say A and B) is represented by A.B and is equal to ABcosθ (if θ is the angle between them)
  • If vectors are perpendicular, i.e. the angle between them is 90° then the value of ABcos90° is zero.
  • While cross product is of two vectors is equal to ABsinθ and the value of sin90 is 1.
  • Hence, the scalar or dot product of perpendicular vectors is zero.
