ANSWER:

  • Value of a is 0 and b is (-6)

GIVEN:

  • Two zeroes of x+(a+1)x+b are 2,-3.

TO FIND:

  • Value of 'a'and 'b'.

SOLUTION:

=> P(x) = x+(a+1)x+b

Sum of zeros:

= 2+(-3)

= -1

Product of zeros:

= 2(-3)

= -6

Formula:

=> Sum of zeroes (α+β) = -(Coefficient of x)/Coefficient of x²

Putting the values:

=> -1 = -(a+1)/1

=> 1 = a+1

=> a = 1-1

=> a = 0

Formula:

=> Product of zeroes (αβ) = Constant term/ Coefficient of x²

Putting the values:

=> -6 = b/1

=> b = (-6).

Value of a is 0 and b is (-6)
