(a)

= \ \textgreater \ Given : \sqrt{961}

= \ \textgreater \ \sqrt{31 * 31}

= \ \textgreater \ \sqrt{(31)^2}

= \ \textgreater \ 31

It can be written as :  \frac{31}{1}

Any number which can be expressed in the form of p/q = rational number.

Therefore 31is rational number.

(b)

= \ \textgreater \ Given : \sqrt{29}

The square root of 29 cannot be expressed as a quotient of two integers. So, it is an irrational number.

(or)

As 29 is not a perfect square. Therefore it is an irrational number.

Hope this helps!
