. 5 is the solution of x>-4 because the 5 is greater than -4 .....but 5 is not the solution of x<1...because 5 is not less than 1 so it is not the solution...

for -4<x<1 ,5 is greater than-4 but 5 is not less than -4,so 5 is truely not the solution of this.
