he was a stubborn and powerful person. he disaproves his daughter's love. he is short tempered and this wrathful lord orders his horsemen to chasing the couple and kill them. however fatherly love rises again when he sees her daughter drowning and regrets for his action. he weeps and asks her to come back but its too late as the stormy sea neither spares her's life nor her lovers.

Lord ullin is the chieftain of his tribes, his daughter has fallen in love with the chieftain of ulva island. so both run of It is a great humiliation for Lord ullin and his clan ,he is against it and didn't wants that his daughter would marry with his beloved because of some social prestige , he was the man of self respect and want to his daughter of his same status .He ordered his mens to kill them . He himself is following the lover ,the lover try to cross the stormy sea at Lochgyle seashore. Lord ullin also arrived there .he seemed at his daughter is going to drown .so he changes at once . He cries in grief and call his daughter to come back he would forgive them but within moment they are drawn and niw its become useless for him.
He was a status cansious lord who dis- approve his daughter love ;he was cruel hurted, that he was a ruler by her but however at the in his heart ruled his head although it was very late .he regretted losing in his daughter because of his arrogance and tyrannical approch.
