14. Equivalent mass of NaOH:

Equivalent weight formula = Molar mass of the compound/no. of electrons gained, or lost

here, MM of NaOH = 40

electron lost/gained = 1, so the answer will be:   40/1 = 40

MM of CaCl₂ = 111

no. of electrons lost or gained = 2

equivalent weight will be: 111/2 = 55.5

MM of H₃PO₄ = 98

no. of electrons lost or gained = 2

so equivalent weight will be: 98/2 = 49

MM of sulphate = 96

no of electrons gained = 2

equivalent weight = 96/2 = 48
