Given,

The unit digit of the number is 6.

To find,

The unit digit of the cube of the given number.

Solution,

We know, that cube of a number is the multiplication of the same numbers for three times.

For example,

x³ = x × x × x

Now, the number has an unit digit of 6 and rest of the number is not specified. So, we will only focus on the unit digit of the number.

Let us, calculate the cube of the unit digit of the number.

(Unit digit)³ = (6)³ = 216

So,when we cube the 6, the final result has 6 as the unit digit.

This same thing will be repeated with every other number with an unit digit of 6. Because, in multiplication, the unit digit doesn't require any addition, like the other digits.

Practical example,

36 and 76 have 6 as their unit digits.

(36)³ = 46656

(76)³ = 438976

Both have 6 as their unit digits, as we discussed previously.

Hence, the cube of the number will also have 6 as the unit digit.
