Que:-7 ,Picture -1

Garden  is  shown in green colour  and  path is shown in red  colour ,

Now,

PQ = 125 m

PS = 60 m

Area of  PQRS = 125 × 60

                         = 7500 m²

AD = 125 + 4  + 4 = 133 m

AB = 60 + 4 + 4  = 68 m

Area  of  ABCD = 133 × 68

                           = 9044 m²

Hence,

Area  of path = 9044 - 7500

                      = 1544 m²

Cost  of  paving  1 m² = R.s. 120

Cost  of  paving  1544 m² = 1544 × 120 = R.s. 1,85,280

Qus:8 Picture : 2

PQ = 5 m

PS = 7.5 m

Area of  PQRS = 5 × 7.5

                         = 37.5 m²

AD = 7.5+ 1.25 + 1.25  = 10 m

AB = 5  + 1.25 + 1.25  = 7.5 m

Area  of  ABCD =7.5 × 10

                           = 75 m²

Hence,

Area  of Verndah = 75 - 37.5

                      = 37.5 m²

Cost  of  cementing of  1 m² = R.s. 15

Cost  of  paving  1544 m² = 37.5 × 15 = R.s. 562.5

Qus:9 Picture : 3

Area  of ABCD (garden)= 500 × 250

                          = 125000 m²

Area of  PQRS = 250 × 8

                         = 2000 m²

Area  of  FGHI = 500 × 8

                        = 4000

Area of  orange  field = 8 ×8

                                      = 64 m²

Now,  if  we  add  area of  FGHI and  PQRS , we  will have  two times  area  of  orange  field ,

Hence,

Area  of  crossroad = 4000+2000 - 64

                                 =   5936 m²

Area  of  garden  excluding  crossroad = 125000 - 5936

                                                                  = 119064 m²
