if vectors (k+1,k+2) and (4,6) are parallel to each other, find the value of k ?

given,

the vectors are parallel

slope of the vectors will be equal

therefore,

 \frac{6}{k + 2}  =  \frac{4}{k + 1}  \\  =  > 4 k + 8 = 6k + 6 \\  =  > 6k - 4k = 8 - 6 \\  =  > 2k = 2 \\  =  > k = 1
